Prairie Pines Lodge has a full time opening for an Activities Coordinator. The Activities Coordinator is responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and leading activities for the residents of Prairie Pines Lodge Assisted Living and Independent Living. Also participates in transportation of residents to activities and appointments. The Activities Coordinator will have a sincere interest in interacting with and improving the quality of life for all residents of our senior living facility. Must have good organizational skills, strong communication skills, and be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Must have a valid Nebraska driver’s license with a clean driving history. Certification as a Nebraska Medication Aide is preferred, but not required.

• To care for the physical, emotional and mental well being of residents of the facility.
• Is aware of residents’ rights. Treats residents with consideration, respect, and full recognition of person’s dignity and individuality. Uses appropriate privacy practices when dealing with Protected Health Information.
• Receives report at change of shift. Carries out provider orders for care of residents. Observes and reports needs and / or changes in condition to supervisor.
• Contributes to a culture of safety for all patients, visitors, and staff by:
      o Ensuring accurate patient identification.
      o Monitoring physical environment for hazards.
      o Identifying patients at risk for adverse events.
      o Reporting potential or actual unexpected events.
      o Practicing effective infection control measures including hand hygiene.
      o Communicating patient information accurately among caregivers.

• Administers medications in a safe manner, according to facility policy and regulations governing Provision of Medications by Medication Aides.
• Documents medication administration according to facility policy.
• Assists residents with activities of daily living including bathing and hygiene, dressing, toileting, ambulation to meals, etc.
• Assists in dining room as needed. Is aware of residents’ dietary needs. Assists residents with diet as needed.
• Answers call lights promptly and addresses residents’ needs as quickly as possible in a kind, considerate manner.
• Responds to emergency situations involving resident conditions. Activates EMS System as necessary. Notifies Facility Director of any emergency situations regarding residents or facility.
• Reports any physical and / or behavioral changes to Facility Director or Nurse Coordinator. Strives to assist residents in remaining as independent as possible.
• Does facility and resident laundry in accordance with facility policy.
• Assists with familiarization of new employees with residents, routines, and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
