*UPDATE* 6/23/10 - Chadron Community Hospital has moved to its new location at 825 Centennial Drive.
*UPDATE* 6/18/10 - We are moving on June 23rd to our new facility at 825 Centennial Drive, two block west of the old facility.
If you have questions about how to access ER services the day of the move, June 23rd, please call the
hospital at 308-432-5586. Our staff will be working to ensure all patients' privacy and safety are a priority.
Please do not come to the new facility on the day of the move unless you have an emergency.

*UPDATE* 5/26/10 - We have accepted the keys to the new facility from the contractor.
Health and human services will be here to inspect the new hospital on June 7th and 8th.

The new hospital was created with the past, present and future in mind.
Everything put into this facility is green and energy efficient. The design was laid
out to preserve patient privacy and planned with the help of those who work in
each area. The architecture of the building will even allow for expansion in the
future. Please join us at our open house this spring to see what the new

General Information
- 93,000 sq ft, 2 levels
- 20.4 million dollar state of the art building
- Gift shop planned
- Children’s waiting area with dinosaur theme
- All entrance and reception areas have a computer that will handle
admissions and all patient records will be kept electronically to be
accessible throughout the building via the computer network
- Flat panel TV in each patient room with the ability to view medical records
and x- rays
- Consolidated billing
- External communication via computers enhanced- diagnostic screenings
(X-rays, MRI, CT, ultrasound) recorded digitally to be read by specialists in
other areas within minutes
- $19 million dollar grant to a consortium of Panhandle hospitals will fund
creation of a higher speed fiber optic system for the region, connecting all
eight Panhandle hospitals to a major national cable system
- All rooms are spacious single rooms with private toilet, shower, outside
window and a fold down bed for family member to stay with patient
- All rooms wired the same for medical hookups for employees convenience
- Central nurse station can monitor each room remotely on video screen
- Multiple waiting areas in different service areas
- Cafeteria that can accommodate up to 60 people
- Thermostat that will monitor heat and humidity in every room will create
energy efficiencies
Upper Level
- Upper level of the building will house the Chadron Medical Clinic which
has 28 exam rooms where patients will have doctors visits, appointments
with visiting specialists, and lab work done
- Dedicated space for specialists
- Chadron Medical Clinic doctors who provide ER services in the same
building will offer improved communications
- Four emergency rooms, one dedicated to major trauma
- A heliport located across from the ER
- Private room for doctors to meet with families of ER patients
- A room for on call doctors to stay nights
- Laboratory will offer more privacy with two blood drawing rooms, a
bathroom designated just for urine collection and a waiting room just for
lab patients
- Chadron Medical Clinic and Hospital share a lab and x-ray to turn out
timely and accurate work
- Two large birthing rooms close to nursery
- Lift assisted room specially designed to handle mobility limited patients with a ceiling lift and extra wide doors for ease of movement
- Two rooms are equipped with ventilation systems used to isolate a patient
with contagious diseases
- Designed to accommodate out patient surgery/ two surgery rooms located
next to a large recovery room where patients can recuperate before being
released
- Room dedicated to chemotherapy/IV Therapy -will handle all types of IV
infusion Therapy and outpatient medication administration
Lower Level
- Lower level of the building designated for outpatient services
- Expanded PT section with locker rooms and showers to allow patients to
work out
- Expanded dialysis section
- Private office space for a nephrologist
- Offices for Home Health, Hospice services and Cardiac rehab area
- Three rooms dedicated to housing computers and data storage
- Radiology will have updated CT scanner in the building
- Updated ultrasound machine, new Phillips Vision 2010 System
- Two Siemens system x-ray rooms
- New in house bone density machine
- New digital mammography machine
