Judy Hawthorne and her husband Bob farm
and ranch west of Chadron on the family place. They have two children;
Scott and his wife Rhonda who farm near Kimball and Susan and husband
Lonnie who live in Thornton, Colorado with their four children.
Judy
has a BS in Home Economics and a minor in English from Chadron State
College. She has served as a 4-H Volunteer, Dawes County Fair
Superintendent, and as a Lay Speaker in the United Methodist Church.
She was also in the first Leadership Chadron class.
Judy’s work experience includes
assisting her husband on the farm/ranch, 30 years as a professional cake
decorator, 4-H County Fair judge, 10 years as Every Woman Matters
Outreach in the Nebraska Panhandle and currently operates Grandma’s
Kitchen, a home-based jelly processing business.
Judy joined the Prairie Pines staff June
4, 2006, as Activities Assistant and is now serving as Activities
Coordinator.
