The Residents of Prairie Pines Lodge enjoy all the
benefits of a retirement community without
having to pay an entrance fee or buy an apartment. Many retirement
communities require an entrance fee or a buy-in plus a high monthly
payment. Those entrance fees may be only partially refundable and the
buy-in or purchase of your unity may one day leave you or your family with
a time-consuming sale.
Each apartment is self-contained, featuring
residential style carpeting in the living room, dining area and bedrooms.
Draperies for all windows are provided. A locked sliding glass door from
the living room to a concrete patio awaits each resident’s own special
touch to decorate with outdoor furniture, plants and flowers. Tile covers
both the kitchen and bathing areas. The kitchens are fully equipped with
the most convenient appliances and genuine wood cabinets. The bathing
area includes a decorator vanity, quality fixtures, medicine cabinet, a
linen cupboard, hook-up for an apartment size stackable washer/dryer unity
and a fiberglass shower or tub/shower unity.
Your security is of prime concern to Prairie Pines
and so a 24-hour/day call system is provided. Smoke alarms are provided
in each apartment and a monitored fire alarm system is installed in the
building. Residents may receive visitors anytime day or night. However,
for the security of the residents, the main entry doors will be locked in
the evening. Residents have the additional security of having their doors
open onto an interior hallway. The paved parking area for residents and
guests is well-lit and maintained by our own staff.
Your new home at Prairie Pines Lodge cannot be
compared to conventional apartments because of the substantial amount of
common areas built for use by all residents. The beautifully decorated
main lobby, central dining room, private dining room, activity/craft room,
fitness room, ice cream parlor and beauty/barbershop are available for
activities with friends and family as well as planned group activities
which are provided. Prairie Pines is owned and managed by
Chadron Community Hospital & Health
Services and we are committed to meeting the needs of the retired.
We believe you’ll find a refreshingly different kind of retirement – a
blend of independent living with an added dimension of security. Garages
are available for the security and protection of you vehicle. Resident
who wish to, or need to, may give up their automobiles, since
transportation will be provided.
You, as a resident, can come and go as you please –
free to do all the things you’ve wanted to do. Your apartment will be
monitored for you if you are away. And of course, all residents have the
right and privilege of privacy if they so desire.
