The residents of Prairie Pines Lodge enjoy all the benefits of a retirement community without having to pay an entrance fee or buy an apartment. Many retirement communities require and entrance fee or a buy-in plus a high monthly payment. Those entrance fees may be only partially refundable and the buy-in or purchase of your unit may one day leave you or your family with a time consuming sale.
Prairie Pines offers two types of apartments, assisted living and independent. The independent apartments are self contained, featuring residential style carpeting in the living room, dining area and bedrooms. Draperies for all windows are provided. A locking glass door form the living room to a patio awaits each residents own special touch to decorate with outdoor furniture, plants and flowers. Tile covers both the kitchen and bathroom. The kitchens are fully equipped with the most convenient appliances and genuine wood cabinets. The bathing area includes a vanity, medicine cabinet, a linen cupboard, hook-up for an apartment size stackable washer/dryer unit and a shower or shower/tub unit.
Each assisted living apartment is also self contained, featuring residential style carpeting and draperies for all windows. The bathroom has tile flooring and is provides a vanity, medicine cabinet, a linen cupboard and a shower. In the assisted living apartments you receive three meals every day, as well as the options of medication administration by our staff, assistance with bathing and bedside assistance when needed.
Both types of apartments offer laundry and cleaning services. A resident may even choose to have a garage for their vehicle. Your security is of prime concern to Prairie Pines and a 24-hour/day call system is provided. Smoke alarms are in each apartment and a monitored fire alarm system is installed throughout the building. Residents may receive visitors at any time of the day or night. However, for the security purposes, the main entry doors are locked in the evenings. Residents have the additional security of having their doors open onto and interior hallway. The parking area for residents and guests is well lit and maintained by our staff.
Your new home at Prairie Pines Lodge cannot be compared to conventional apartments because of the substantial amount of common areas built for the use of all residents. The beautifully decorated main lobby, central dining room, private dining room, activity/craft room, fitness room, ice cream parlor and beauty/barbershop are available for activities with friends and family as well as planned group activities which are provided by our staff. Prairie Pines is owned and managed by Chadron Community Hospital and Health Services and we are committed to meeting the needs of the retired.
