OFFICE CLERK - REHAB, FULL-TIME

Full-time 30-40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, Hourly, Benefited position.


Rehabilitation Services Department providing physical therapy care to Chadron, NE and surrounding communities.


Job Summary:

The technician will work under the general and direct supervision of the physical therapists. This individual will provide receptionist, secretarial, and clerical duties for the department with minimal supervision or independently. Will assist physical therapists in selected procedures as necessary, and perform other duties as requested. 

Job Duties: 

  • Answer and manage calls.
  • Schedule patient appointments and meetings for the staff.
  • Prepare and maintain patient charts.
  • Relay all patient charge slips, admission information, and chart materials to business office, medical records, and any other departments as necessary.
  • Pick up, sort, and distribute departmental mail.
  • Perform departmental cleaning and maintenance. This includes managing supplies, inventory, and ordering as necessary.
  • Prepare and maintain patient care and treatment areas.
  • Assist physical therapists and patients as needed in preparing for, during, and following treatments. Provides specific treatment only as directed by the staff physical therapist.
  • Monitors vital signs, maintains adequate knowledge base regarding cardiovascular and respiratory precautions for the patient undergoing physical medicine services and treatments.
  • Communicates any changes in condition (physical or mental) to staff physical therapist, nursing and other facility personnel as appropriate.
  • Interacts professionally with patient/family and involve patient/family in the formation of the plan of care.
  • Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized, and function under stressful situations.
  • Adheres to department policies and procedures. 

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Good interpersonal skills, phone etiquette, typing, computer skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, spell, and speak English.
  • Operation of office equipment.

Experience: 

  • Not required, but previous experience in patient care preferred.
