Blood Drive April 16th from 7:30am to 1pm at the First Congregational Church in Chadron

We are asking that the public abide by the governors mandate of social distancing and staying at home as much as possible BUT it is imperative that we keep our blood bank supplied.  Please plan to come by yourself as we will not let more than one person in per appointment.  Blood drawing stations will be set up to allow for social distancing and will be disinfected in between appointments.

Since COVID-19 is now in the Panhandle, having a sufficient blood supply is essential in staving off shortages for patients in need.  Giving blood has no impact on one's immune system, and according to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), there have been no known cases of COVID-19 transmission through the blood donation or transfusion process.

Blood drawn through West Nebraska Blood Center stays in the region with blood supplies going to Regional West Medical Center and other hospitals throughout the Nebraska Panhandle, including Chadron Community Hospital.
