Chadron Community Hospital's Home Health is Medicare and Medicaid licensed agency that provides a variety of services based on the individual's payer source.
Medicare provides short term care when the services needed require the skills of a Registered Nurse or a Licensed Physical or Occupational Therapist. Skilled care is often needed after hospitalization, with exacerbation of diseases and wound care. Patients with catheters and chronic non-healing wounds may qualify for extended Home Health Services. Medicare only allows services to individuals who are homebound and ordered by a physician.
Home Health's goal is to help patients reclaim thier lives. We work with people who are not only injured but have been ill or had surgery. Home Care Physical Therapist make recommendations on equipment and modifications to the home to improve safety and prevent falls. The APTA section on Home Health says the PT's help patients "reclaim their lives at home."
Services that are NOT provided by Medicare and most insurance companies:
- Well Check for aging parents
- Daily Medication administration
- Assistance with bathing
- Assistance with household chores
- 24 hour care
Unfortunately, there are no Private Duty Agencies in the Panhandle of Nebraska to provide these non-skilled services. Our office can provide a list of names for people in the community who can privately hire otherwise you will need to place an advertisement for chore work and/or personal assistants in local news media.
